Origins Theatre Company
Origins Theatre is an exciting theatre company, based on the beautiful Isle of Wight. We are the resident theatre company at The Bargeman’s Rest, The Depozitory in Nelson Street, Ryde, and at Freshwater Memorial Hall; have a base at the historic Chale Church; and regularly stage plays at Shanklin Theatre, and at various venues on the Island and the South of England.
We provide opportunities for people to get involved, and the majority of our productions are therefore ‘amateur’ in the sense that the performers are not paid. However, we have a reputation for delivering professional standards. We perform our re-creation of ‘Charles Dickens: Storyteller’ on a professional basis at festivals and other occasions.
We believe in giving our audiences something new, and in giving people the chance to get involved. So if you would like to join us, as a writer, back stage, front of house or on stage, please get in touch!
