Gilbert and Sullivan Productions’ Carols and Mince Pies at Bembridge Village Hall on Sunday afternoon entertained a very appreciative audience for the second year running.
Selling out three weeks before the show date, its popularity reflects both the success of last year’s festive event and the G&S operettas staged by this relatively new Island company.

Indeed, the programme featured an appropriate of to Gilbert and Sullivan in ‘Ring Forth Ye Bells’ from The Sorcerer, along with a range of Christmas music from the 15th Century Coventry Carol to John Ritter’s beautiful ‘Christmas Lullaby’; there was also a brand new original carol, ‘Christmas Day in Bethlehem’ composed by GASP member Rene Mairis.
There were festive readings and the chance to join in with traditional and well known carols – and of course enjoy a mulled wine and mince pie!
GASP will be back on 26-29 September with The Mikado – tickets available very soon!
