PREVIEW: ‘Frankenstein’ – Ryde School

Ryde School presents Rona Munro’s adaptation of Frankenstein, based on Mary Shelley’s Gothic masterpiece.

A young man, Victor Frankenstein, is fascinated by science and harnesses the powers of nature to bring a creature back to life. Repulsed by the hideous results, Frankenstein banishes his creation into the wilderness. The creature desperately seeks out his true identity, but the agony of rejection and broken promises push him into the darkness. Dangerous and vengeful, the creature threatens to destroy his creator and everyone he loves in a bloodthirsty hunt for his maker.

Join an 18 year old Mary Shelley, who is placed at the heart of the action to remind the audience of the emotional journey she went on to create the story.

Senior School Pupils at Ryde School have the daunting task of bringing this well known novel to life. 7pm performances on the 21st and 22nd of March  at the Jenny Kerry Performing Arts centre, Ryde School, Queen’s road  – it is not to be missed.
