The Way Forward Programme has delivered many fun and song-filled shows at Medina Theatre over the years. They recently performed their latest creative showcase “Thank You For The Music” on the 28th of June, with all the usual pizaz and entertainment a-plenty you’d come to expect.
Set on a beautiful Greek Island, the script playfully riffed off the hit jukebox musical “Mamma Mia”, but went one step further with the introduction of Greek gods in all the family drama! Hades, Zeus, Poseidon…all make cameos in this daddy dilemma!
Donna and Sophie, played by Amie and Josie had a lot to sort out as to who exactly out of this pantheon was in fact her real dad? Coupled with that was a score of ABBA’s finest hits and pop classics that would have any auditorium tapping their feet.
They were led ably by a creative team featuring Danielle Boulton, ably assisted by Lucy Dreyer and based on a concept by Fran Maretic. The performance being dedicated to her brother Tom, a much loved service user and friend of all at the programme.
It is great to see this organisation still providing creative opportunities and moments to showcase the talents of its service users. Thanks must go to all the cast and crew for the hard long hours of rehersal and team work to put together a show like this.
Way Forward, it only leaves us to say…”The Winner takes it all”.
