The Wight Strollers are hosting their second Summer Fun Day on Sunday 27^th July at Rookley Village Hall & Sports Field, following the success of their first such event in 2023.

The Wight Strollers are best-known for their pantomimes, musicals and carnival entries over the years, having been established in 1980, and over the last 45 years they have donated over £250,000 to Island charities and good causes, a total they hope to increase following the Fun Day.

Taking place from 11am – 4pm, entry is just £2 for adults and free for children, and promises a great family day out with plenty to do for all ages.

Appearing throughout the day by way of entertainment in the main arena are – among others – Wight Diamonds, Isle of Wight Highland Pipes & Drums, Mr. Baker’s Dozen Morris Dancers, the Long Island Stompers, and Huxley Magic.

Also taking place in the main arena is a family fun dog show for anyone with a four-legged friend to enter, plus a ‘just for fun’ Sports Day.

There is also a variety of musical entertainment on offer from Island bands and singers, including The Tuesdayz, The Watch, Double Take, Rob Bingham and Emily Scotcher.

A variety of stallholders will be selling everything from locally-made crafts to jewellery to dog accessories, and there will be food on offer from Wight Ices, the Isle of Wight Bacon Company, Island Sweet Dreams with their Mac ‘n’ Cheese truck, and the Strollers will be running a bar and a tearoom stocked with homemade cakes and refreshments.

Families can also enjoy an archery demonstration from Time Jump Histories, Tag Commander laser tag, pony rides with Kitbridge Hollow Riding Academy and the Strollers themselves are running a host of games and activities including glitter tattoos, Hook A Duck, and the ‘Human Fruit Machine!’

Attendees are advised to bring cash, as some of the games and stalls will be cash-only. There is car parking nearby, in an opposite field, and this will be clearly signposted.
