All aboard ye landlubbers for this year’s nautical pantomime from the Wight Island Players! Yes – Robinson Crusoe is coming to Bembridge Village Hall from 16th – 18th January, and tickets are on sale now.
This traditionally funny and silly pantomime tells the tale of the Crusoe family who own a Chippy: they are finding life hard, until one day they find a treasure map on the back of their menu board. The adventures start when they set sail for the Thousand Island’s Lost Temple of Treasure to seek their fortune….
What they don’t know is that following close behind is the evil Captain Blacktashe who wants the treasure map for himself. Nor are they aware that the lovely Polly Perkins has stowed away on board their ship, so that she can be with her love Robinson Crusoe.

So one lovely surprise, and one not so lovely – but on the way perils await them: haunted places where ghosts loom, cannibals and monkeys awaiting their supper…. but Calypso the Enchanted helps them conquer all, and love develops between Robinson and Polly for ever after, and the evil Captain Blacktashe is of course, in the great tradition of panto, defeated.
Just when you thought the festivities were over, a pantomime is just the thing to cheer up a dreary January day and is great entertainment for all the family. They’ll love to boo the villainous Captain Blacktashe; cheer on our hero Robinson Crusoe and ahh at the lovely scenes between him and Polly. Add in a generous helping of song and dance and plenty of panto fun with the Dame, and you’ll have a wonderful time, so book your tickets now – online at Robinson Crusoe at Bembridge Village Hall event tickets from TicketSource or call 07599 954862.
