NEWS: Marathon Dancers seek FAME!

img_7210-1Hello this is Britney Kent, Rhiannon Taylor and Louise Chadwick from the Performing Arts Department at Isle Of Wight College. We have just completed a challenging 24 hour dance marathon to raise money for our upcoming production of Fame the Musical which will be performed at Medina Theatre on the 28th of June at 7:00pm.
When thinking of fundraising ideas, a cast member suggested a 24 hour dance marathon. As Performing Arts students we loved the idea!! Students came together with Play Station dance mats, Wii dance games and Sing-Along karaoke games which kept us motivated. Amongst all of the dancing games, we managed to focus some of our time on fame rehearsals and choreographing some dance, despite being incredibly tired.

Another event we have coming up soon is a Murder Mystery event, throughout the 24 hour marathon we all managed to rehearse the dances for the event a variety of times making the night very helpful for our rehearsal process! We are fortunate to be collaborating with JA entertainments, Kim Ball and a variety of performers from around the island for our production of Fame the musical. Rehearsals are going well and we cant wait to develop the show further and put it under the lights on the stage for everyone to see.
